Hounds To Horses "officially" began in January 2003. Owners Janean and Bill Huston
own a small ranch in the unincorporated west end of Escondido, an area known as Harmony Grove/Eden Valley. They share their
home with 2 cats, 2 dogs, and 6 horses. Bill and Janean met at the stables where they previously
boarded their horses. Both where raised with animals, each bringing 40+ years of animal expertise to the
business.

Meet the team:
>>Janean (Owner) is a graduate from San Diego State University, and
worked in sales & marketing most of her "corporate" life. As Janean departed from a career as a Radio Marketing
Executive, she turned her energies to her passion for animals, founding Hounds To Horses in 2003. She
attended a Pet First Aid class held at the Escondido Humane Society in January 2005. Janean is Co-President of
the House Corporation, which runs the Kappa Delta sorority house at SDSU and in 2008 was the first Non-Pro
Rider ever to be elected to the So CA Horseshow Association (SCPHA) Board of Directors. Additionally, she can often
be found at a wide variety of meetings with the goal of maintaining a rural environment in her community.
>>Bill (Co-owner) was raised on 80-acres in Montana. After retiring with his
20-year from the U.S. Marine Corps at MCAS Miramar, he worked at a Project Manager for a local construction contractor
and then was the Assistant Stable Manager at the 44-acre stable located at MCAS Miramar until it's closure.
Now he is a large animal vet assistant with Dr, Linda Barone out of the Rancho Santa Fe area. Add-itionally
he shows on the Quarter Horse circuit, plus he pitches in to keep our family business on track!
>>James volunteers as a 4-H advisor and is an encyclopedia when it comes to animals! He
also works at Hawthorne Country Feed Store in Escondido, bringing a wealth of animal knowledge to our business.
>>Deb has an extensive pet care background, and is an active volunteer with the Escondido
Humane Society working with all different animals.
>>Miriam came back to work for us after a year of teaching humans! She has a vast background in pet care, including horses, dogs, cats and birds.
